| Principal Duties: | Supervising of P&D Drivers, Dockworkers and cross-dock freight-flow.
Supervise, co-ordinate and schedule the activities of dockworkers, switchers, and P&D personnel. Supervise the dock operation, dispatch, associated labour, equipment and facilities within the parameters of the collective agreement. Dispatch drivers and monitor routes to ensure schedules are met and to resolve operating problems. Establish methods to meet work schedules and co-ordinate work activities with other supervisors or managers. Resolve work problems and recommend measures to improve productivity. Train or arrange for training of workers. Recommend personnel actions such as hiring, discipline and promotion. Other duties as may be assigned in support of the dock, freight handling operation and dispatch. Working Conditions: Tasks performed in Terminal office, Dock office, Dock and City Dispatch. Full-time variable schedule. |
| Minimum Requirements: | Completion of secondary school required.
Computer Skills. Experience with the dock operation and dispatch is required. Knowledge of city and customer locations. Excellent verbal communication and listening skills required. Ability to work various shifts. |
